These draft terms cover the public site as it exists today, plus clearly labeled launch-state pathways that may still be under construction.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using savethecreators.org (the “Site”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Site. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
2. Description of Service
Save The Creators, operated by Distributed Creatives, provides:
- A public-facing advocacy platform for creator rights
- The Declaration for Creators — a public statement of principles that individuals can sign
- An advocacy directory (the Hub) aggregating creator advocacy organizations, campaigns, and resources
- A newsletter or update pathway for movement news and advocacy updates
- Free movement membership and related action pathways, with some community and governance features still planned for later phases
The Site and its services are provided on an “as is” basis. Features described as “coming soon” or “future” are not guaranteed and may change.
3. User Accounts and Registration
Some features of the Site require you to provide an email address. If account-based features are added later, these terms will also govern those accounts. When you provide registration information, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information
- Keep your account credentials secure
- Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account
- Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account
4. User Responsibilities
When using the Site, you agree not to:
- Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
- Submit false or misleading information
- Impersonate any person or entity
- Interfere with or disrupt the Site's operation, servers, or networks

5. Declaration Signatures
By signing the Declaration for Creators, you affirm that you support its stated principles. If we launch a public signatory display, your name may be displayed publicly only if you opt in. You may withdraw your signature at any time by contacting us. Signing the Declaration does not create a legal obligation or contractual relationship beyond these Terms of Service.
6. Intellectual Property
The content, design, and branding of savethecreators.org are the property of Distributed Creatives unless otherwise noted. The Declaration for Creators text is made available for public sharing and reference in support of creator advocacy.
You retain ownership of any content you submit to the Site. If future community features allow you to submit forum posts, comments, profile information, or similar content, you grant Distributed Creatives a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display and distribute that content in connection with the operation of the Site and the advancement of the creator advocacy mission.
7. Third-Party Links and Services
The Site may contain links to third-party websites, organizations, and resources. These links are provided for informational purposes. Distributed Creatives does not endorse, control, or assume responsibility for the content or practices of any third-party sites.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Distributed Creatives and its founders, team members, volunteers, and contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Site, including but not limited to:
- Loss of data or content
- Errors, interruptions, or delays in service
- Actions taken based on information provided on the Site
The Site is provided for informational and advocacy purposes. Nothing on the Site constitutes legal, financial, or professional advice.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Distributed Creatives, its founders, team members, and volunteers from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Site or violation of these terms.
10. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Site ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, limitation of liability, and indemnification) shall survive.
11. Governing Law
These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Colorado, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
